Roberto Matta

was driving around town today and stopped by a garage sale.  came across a surprise book on one of my favorite artist's ever, Roberto Matta.  I was a little stunned because I've never seen a book of his work before in person.  I know there are some comprehensive ones online for a couple hundred but...so I offered two bucks for this one and took it.  Score.  It's an old printing and in spanish and there's only a few pictures of his paintings, mostly of him in studios political things.  I love the cover!

Sunday in th studio 4.3.11

Being the scavenger I am, I found this pastel portrait lonely and discarded in a pile of trash and have proceeded to incorporate my personal interpretation...a lions mane fit for the sun.

Sphinx Fox sighting

My collaborative project with Joy Payton is working on some material in preparation for a couple shows later this year.  Hooray for goals.

Here's some small sculptey figurines that are patiently waiting to receive paint food, on top of some character drawings...also hungry.
